Locals lock the door to CG’s factory at Nawalparasi citing pollution issues
Locals of Dumkauli, Nawalparasi organized a protest pointing out pollution caused by CG’s noodle factory and locked the doors to the manufacturing plant.
Madhav Kc, chairman of ward no. 2, said that “The communities around the factory have become uninhabitable due to the pollution caused by the factory. Thus, we have been forced to close the doors to the factory and conduct a protest.” He further added that “locals have been consistently pleading the concerned authorities of the factory to manage the issue but their plight has remained unheeded. Excessive dust particles emitted by processing of grains required for noodle production has hampered the daily lives of the locals.”
CG’s factory at Dumkauli produces noodles, snacks, juice, beer and cigarettes. A company as reputed as CG should immediately make efforts to address this issue in order to fulfill its CSR obligations and maintain brand image.
