Sagarmatha Cement’s quality in question!
A product of Ghorahi Cement Pvt Ltd., Sagarmatha Cement, raised a serious concern challenging its quality standard.
A resident of Tulsipur, Bijuli Chaudhary, had used Sagarmatha cement for the construction of his new house. Sadly, the concrete floor stabilized using the mixture of the cement was not so stable after all. Even after 23 days, the concrete floor was chipping out simply with a repeated stroke of a foot.
In fact, the incident occurred on multiple occasions. The company had subsidized and advised Mr. Chaudhary to use Sagarmatha cement again, after the concrete floor failed to stabilize the first time. Remarkably, the second time was not a charm either.
Amidst a time when multiple cement companies have been penalized for failing to meet quality standards in the past couple of months, Sagarmatha cement’s unfortunate news is a blow to the certification procedures of the country. Are the brands too lenient with their standard tests? Or is the quality certification standard of the country unreliable?
With multiple cement brands failing to meet quality standards in recent times, they face a dire need to rectify the situation by meeting the consumer as well as regulating body’s expectations.
