Unilever to provide self-employment training to women
As a part of its CSR initiative, Unilever Nepal has reached an agreement with Maiti Nepal. Under this association, Unilever in association with Maiti Nepal, a not for profit organization, will seek to rehabilitate women who have been rescued from sex-trafficking and domestic violence.
The objective of this association is to elevate the social, legal and financial condition of these women. Women will be provided employment skills ( for example, beautician, driving and sales). Unilever will also sponsor the accommodation cost at Maiti Nepal for these women for the duration of the training.
The association was announced at Maiti Nepal in the presence of Anuradha Koirala ( founder of Maiti Nepal) and Amlan Mukherjee( Managing Director of Unilever Nepal).
